People sometimes aren't happy with their smile, and what we do is a smile design. We do it during new patient appointments, as well as other times during periodic exams.

A new patient smile is a process where we first take a photograph and using the picture, we analyze what's going on with the smile. Why is it unpleasant? How can we improve it? And what are the different options? This is a dialogue between the patient and me.

The next step would be to take a mold of the teeth. I use the mold as a cast, to sculpture wax around the tooth and use it as an example of how I can improve it and what can I do in the lab before I even touch the patient's teeth.

The patient examines the diagnostic wax-up and then between the patient and I, we come to an understanding of what's the best thing to do. Whether to make it longer or shorter, broader or wider, where to position the teeth and, of course, keeping function and bite in mind. Then, the patient agrees to the new design.

The day of the procedure, the patient walks out with the temporary mold that reflects the new design so they can try it out. Once we are happy with the final shape of the teeth (in the temporary mold), I take a mold and I send it to the lab. I tell them to duplicate that for the final restoration so there will be no surprises. We have done many smiles over the years that way.

Smile Design

Our cosmetic dentist, Dr. Muradian, specializes in smile design or smile makeovers. Regardless of how much time has passed since you visited a dentist or the current status of your smile, our dentist in Simi Valley will provide exceptional and completely natural-looking results.

A smile makeover can boost confidence while rejuvenating your overall look. Many of our Simi Valley patients leave the office feeling years younger. Smile makeovers with our dentist will also correct imperfections like misalignments or discoloration which will restore your once beautiful smile.

Cosmetic procedures used to complete smile makeovers include dental implants, porcelain veneers, inlays/onlays, teeth whitening, bridges, bonding and more. Depending on the type of smile makeover or design you need, our dentist will recommend one or more of these procedures in order to deliver the results you need.

What kind of imperfections can a smile makeover correct?

A smile makeover or otherwise known as smile design can help correct any of the following:

Your cosmetic dentist in Simi Valley is able to offer you several alternatives to fix teeth imperfections, and significantly improve the overall look of your smile. Some patients benefit from the use of just one treatment, such as teeth whitening, to address a stained, yellow smile, while some patients may choose a variety of treatments to completely transform the look of their teeth.

Dr. Victor K. Muradian works with patients to help them decide how much they would like to change their smiles and the expected cost and time required to achieve those results. He educates patients on each treatment so they can make an educated decision regarding the services required to attain their dream smile!

  • Dental Veneers

It is a perfect solution both to erase the visible spots in the tooth enamel and to correct the shape, position or size of the tooth. They are very thin porcelain or composite sheets that adhere to the surface of the enamel and provide a very natural effect.

  • Bonding

Dental bonding is the application of a tooth-colored composite resin to fix a tooth that is chipped, fractured or discolored. Unlike veneers, bonding is a quick procedure that is performed in a single session. The material bonds to the tooth without having to manufacture a customized mold for it.

  • Dental Contouring

People who show a lot of gum when smiling, or who have an asymmetric height in the teeth can correct this smile defect with a small surgery known as cosmetic periodontal contouring. It consists of cutting the gum that covers the tooth to achieve a more proportionate and aesthetic smile.

  • Dental Implants

The three causes for the loss of a tooth are decay, pyorrhea or an accident. The solution to replace it is an implant, which consists of the placement of a titanium screw in the bone that acts as a root, followed by the application of a piece of porcelain. This is a minimally invasive intervention that is performed with local anesthesia.

  • Teeth Whitening

Patients of Dr. Muradian can elect to enhance their smile with our powerful in-office treatment, which revives the smile in one hour, or they can choose our home-whitening treatment, which gets the same dazzling results over a week or two.

  • Dental crowns

A dental crown is used by our Simi Valley dentist to restore a tooth that has been damaged.
